The wait is finally over! This Saturday Pocklington 1st XV finally get to play a home league game after 554 days of waiting, when they entertain old rivals Scarborough. Due to lockdown, Bradford & Bingley's no show of three weeks ago, and the machinations of the fixture list - all clubs play two away games in a row at some stage, unfortunately our turn came in the first month - you have to go back to 7 March 2020 for when Pocklington last ran out at home in North 1 East.
So come down on Saturday to make up for lost time and catch up with old friends - with the match also being a Diogenes reunion, facilitated by a barrel of beer courtesy of Peter Ward and Judsons. Membership secretary Henry Mitchell will also be on hand for anyone to come and collect their fixture card and members badge.
Kick-off at Percy Road is at 3.00 pm, with the bar open at 1.00 pm.
The Panthers and Pilgrims are also in action as they travel to the coast to take on their Scarborough counterparts.
On Sunday morning the minis are away at Driffield for a matrix, 10:30am KO (any teams not travelling to Driffield are welcome to train at the KP); while there are three junior teams in home action - the U13s v. Ionians - KP pitch, 11am KO, U15s v. Ionians - club back pitch, 11am KO, and U14s in Yorkshire Cup action v. Keighley 11am KO.
