There is no first team game this weekend as league rugby takes a break, but Saturday is still a big day on and off the pitch at Percy Road.
Beer and music festival, Pocktoberfest, will be in the Hooting Owl Gin marquee alongside the clubhouse from 1pm to 10 pm, while there will be rugby action on the front pitch from 3pm onwards. Tickets for Pocktoberfest are selling fast and are available from local outlets or through the Pocktoberfest Facebook page.
The Panthers game against Malton & Norton has been switched to Percy Road with the generous cooperation of Malt officials as part of the programme of entertainment. There had also been hopes for an impromptu game in memory of Nigel Elliot between players he had coached, but this has been held over to later in the season.
Pocktoberfest is one of the club's and the town's top nights out. Over 20 beers, lagers and ciders from near and far, plus Gin and Prosecco bars will be accompanied by good food and music. The quality music programme includes 7-piece party band Inn Transit, fronted by former Pock fullback, Gary Denton, plus popular duo The Pokies, Selby band Black Dogs, Pocklington's Got Talent winner Megan Preece, and our own club captain Micky Beard.
There is also plenty of action on Sunday morning with the minis entertaining Hullensians and the junior teams engaged with Beverley opposition (11 am).
