The 60th Good Friday Pock 7s kicks off a busy week of rugby at Percy Road for all ages, men, boys and girls.

The marquees and bars are up, the BBQs ready and he ground good to go for the John Smiths Pock 7s, the towns biggest sporting occasion which is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee. The first game kicks off at 1.00 pm and the high speed action lasts more than six hours.

On Easter Sunday Pocklington's junior section gets in on the seven-a-side rugby act with the Pocklington Junior Charity Sevens sponsored by Stone Paving Supplies Ltd.

The Junior Sevens has competitions at Under 15, Under 14 and Under 13 age levels with participating teams from accross Yorkshire. The event starts at 10.30 am and continues through to 4.00 pm and raises money for the Martin House childrens hospice.

There is also a girl's rugby taster next week, with a rugby camp for girls from 11-18 years from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on Wednesday 4 April and Thursday 5 April. No experience neccessary, just turn up and give it a go, further details from Jayne Mooney, tel: 07900 407537, email:
